The Improvement of my Studying Strategies Like many students I have trouble studying for classes and the many test that are assigned within the classes. I find that for some classes different techniques need to be used to get a better grade on their tests. For cognitive psychology remembering terms and concepts is essential and needed to pass any of assignments that have been given. Although I did okay on the last test I feel as if there is much room for improvement for my grades. I would like to try to retain most of the knowledge that I read and pick up in class ,however this task is easier said than done . The specific things I would like to focus on when it comes to this class is remembering the key terms used during lectures ,and being able to recall them properly during test and other situations. Being that this is a cognitive psychology class there are many techniques that I learned that can improve my way of learning and processing new information. To actually be able to get a better understanding of the cognitive concepts that i read about i must first be able to properly keep the information. One of the fundamental concepts used throughout psychology and everyday life to assist those with remembering is the concept of Chucking. Chunking is the idea that one can organize data together to improve their ability to remember the information later on. Chunking was first thought up by a man named George A.
